Hanmer Springs Mountainbike Club

The Hanmer Springs Mountain Bike Club first started in August 2004.The Club consists of a small number of volunteers who help build and maintain the mountain bike tracks in the Hanmer forest.
A lot of thanks must be given to Matariki Forests who have allowed us to build mountain bike tracks on their land. Without their support and such a great relationship we would not have the great tracks that we do.
The Clubs main fundraisers are the Hanmer Hammerhead mountain bike race, map sales and donations. These all provide funds to pay for shingle boardwalks, tools and maintenance and ultimately great tracks! The race is held at the end of the year and consists of a lot of the sweet singletrack in the forest. As a member you can support any of the Club events by helping marshall at the race, joining in with a working party or making a donation. The local members welcome your support.
The Club often organises working bees where members of the Club can come and help maintain and build new tracks. These are advertised in our newsletter.
